About phil schneider
Phil Schneider is an internationally recognized management consultant. He has more than 35 years of experience in the field of corporate location strategy, site selection, incentive negotiation and economic development. Prior to starting Schneider Strategy Consulting, he was a Partner with Deloitte Consulting and led their corporate location strategy and site selection practice. Phil started his career at Fantus Consulting (creators of the corporate site selection methodology), where as Director he was responsible for managing site selection and economic development consulting projects. As of June 12, 2025, Phil is now Project Principal at Global Location Services (GLS).
Phil has conducted more than 400 engagements across industries and corporate functions including heavy manufacturing/processing, advanced technology manufacturing, headquarters, R &D, distribution centers, customer support/contact centers, and shared services. For his corporate clients, Mr. Schneider:
- Develops corporate location strategy and selection decision process and decision frameworks;
- Screens and analyzes countries, states, and cities to identify locations and sites meeting specific company operational requirements;
- Conducts field due diligence to inspect local work force, infrastructure, real estate/sites, living conditions, and other business conditions and costs;
- Develops operating cost and business conditions benchmarking models; and,
- Leads negotiations for government incentives and real estate acquisition.
Mr. Schneider has conducted location strategy and site selection projects throughout the world with a focus on Foreign Direct Investment projects. In addition to conducting location screening and business cost/conditions reviews of nearly all industrialized countries in the world, Mr. Schneider has conducted in-country, in-person field work in more than 35 countries in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
